Q:  How is Assure® different from other digestive supplements?

A: Assure was developed by a practicing veterinarian to solve the common digestive problems he faced in daily practice. Q:  Some supplements have more probiotics than Assure. Does that mean they’re better?

The microbes in other supplements are often broken down in the stomach’s acidic environment before reaching the hindgut. This results in a smaller quantity of active microbes available to address digestive concerns. Assure contains Arenus’ exclusive Gastrointestinal Stabilizing Technology (GST) which protects the microbes while travelling through the stomach and allows them to arrive safely in the hindgut to deliver maximum benefits to your horse.

Q:  Do horses like the taste of Assure?

A:  Yes, Assure is palatable. Generally, if your horse eats other supplements without issue, working Assure into their regimen won’t be a problem. If you have a picky eater then try starting with a smaller dose or adding water, vegetable oil or molasses to encourage your horse to eat their supplement.

Q:  Will my horse need to be on Assure forever?

A:  Assure is designed as a daily, maintenance program. While it can be used to address acute issues, most horse owners opt to incorporate Assure into their horse’s daily supplement regimen.

Q:  Why is it recommended to use both Assure and Assure Plus?

A:   Each of the products in the Assure System are unique and designed to work together to address digestive challenges and maintain optimal gut health. We typically recommend using both products daily for 3 - 6 weeks. This resets your horse’s digestive tract and ensures it’s functioning as efficiently as possible. After this initial period, most horse owners are able to transition to a maintenance dose of giving Assure everyday and Assure Plus for 7 consecutive days each month or 7 days every 8 - 12 weeks. The Assure System products are designed to be flexible for each horse’s lifestyle and requirements. This means that you can feed only the amount that your horse needs for a flexible, affordable digestive health solution. You may find that your horse does well with only Assure or you may want to try another Assure System program to suit your horse’s needs.

Q:  What is the shelf life of Assure and how should I store it?

A:  Even though Assure contains high volumes of live microbes, its exclusive formulation ensures stability for at least 2 years from the manufacture date if stored properly. The Assure products are meant to be stored in a cool, dry place with the bag tightly sealed and the bucket lid closed.

Q:  When feeding both Assure and Assure Plus, why is it suggested to feed them at different times?

A:  We recommend feeding the products at different times to help with the breakdown of feedstuffs and ensure that your horse receives regular doses of live microbes throughout the day. Probiotics do not reside in the hindgut for long and a reinforcement after 12 hours instead of 24 hours works best to repopulate them.
