Q: Is it safe to apply Sore No-More Performance Ultra Poultice by itself and turn my horse out?
A: The Sore No-More poultices are designed to be safely used alone and without wraps or supervision. You may apply directly before turning your horse out. We recommend letting the poultice dry before turning out. We also don’t recommend turning out with the poultice on in cold or wet weather, because this can cause the poultice to not be as effective.
Q: Is Sore No-More Performance Ultra Poultice easy to remove if I don’t have access to wash area?
A: The Sore No-More poultices are just as easy to remove as they are to apply. Once the poultice is fully dry, it can be easily brushed off the legs or picked out of hooves. If you know you’ll be regularly removing poultice without water, then try using a slightly thinner application.
Q: How can I use the Sore No-More Performance Ultra Poultice to draw out a hoof abscess?
A: Our poultices can be used in place of or with a hoof packing of your choice to help draw out abscesses. We recommend applying a protective boot or hoof wrap over the poultice to avoid contamination. This will help increase effectiveness and draw out the abscess faster.
Q: Can I use Performance Ultra Poultice on other areas of the body besides the lower limbs and hooves?
A: Yes. This depends on the area, but you can use the poultice on other places besides hooves and legs. Be sure to not use the poultice in areas that come into contact with riding equipment while exercising. We do not recommend using on open wounds or delicate areas like the nostrils or eyes. Consult with your veterinarian before application if you intend on using the poultice outside of labeled uses.
