Ambassador Spotlight: Meet Daniela Moguel

by Arenus Animal Health

We are proud to introduce Daniela Moguel, a new addition to our ambassador team. Daniela is a decorated four-star eventer, and the first rider from Mexico to compete at Rolex Kentucky CCI4*. A dedicated eventer, Daniela became inspired to join the sport when she saw a poster of U.S. Olympic athlete, Karen O'Connor. Amazingly, O’Connor eventually became her coach and mentor.

Since then, Daniela made her upper-level debut with horses Alejandra and Agave at one and two-star events throughout the United States and Mexico.

Finding Her Equine Match

In 2014, Daniela began the hunt for an equine athlete that would take her to the next competitive level. After a long search, she found her match. The thirteen-year-old Thoroughbred mare, Cecelia, had all the qualities she was looking for.

With Cecelia, Daniela has achieved many firsts. She represented Mexico at the 2015 Pan-American Games, where she finished in 12th place as the highest-placed Mexican and the best finish by any Mexican rider since 1975. In 2016, she completed the Rolex Kentucky CCI4* in 28th place as the first rider ever to represent Mexico at the event.

Currently, Daniela splits her time between competing in the United States and teaching in Mexico City. As a passionate eventer, she enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with her students. Additionally, this year Daniela and Cecelia will compete at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, NC.

Team Arenus is excited to have Daniela and Cecelia on board as this duo is sure to accomplish many great things. We wish them the good luck at Tryon and beyond!
