Q: What is Gelotion? Why would I use a Gelotion instead of a liniment?

A: The Sore No-More Classic Liniment and Sore No-More Classic Gelotion contain our same trusted, arnica-based formula. The difference is that the Gelotion is a thicker consistency. Liniment is liquid and Gelotion has a gel or lotion texture. The thicker consistency makes it an ideal choice to apply to areas on the horse where regular liquid liniments may run off.

Q: With the Gelotion having a thicker consistency, can it still be used under tack?

A: The thicker consistency of our Gelotions will not interfere with it being used under tack. Just like the liniments, the Gelotions absorb quickly into the skin. This means that our Gelotion can safely be used under tack, bandages, wraps, ceramics and therapeutics without making a mess. Simply rinse or bathe the area if the Gelotion remains on the skin from multiple days of consecutive use.

Q: Is the Sore No-More Classic Gelotion approved for competitions that have “Zero-Tolerance” regulations?

A: Sore No-More Classic Gelotion contains lobelia, a natural herb used topically for anti-inflammatory purposes. Lobelia is currently on the FEI’s “Zero-Tolerance” list. Lobelia is included in many organizations’ regulated substance lists. You should consult with your governing organization or veterinarian prior to using this product if competing. Try our FEI approved Performance Gelotion or Performance Ultra Gelotion with comfrey instead of lobelia if you’re competing in regulated events.

Q: Can Sore No-More Classic Gelotion be used in combination with other topicals or liniments?

A: Sore No-More Classic Gelotion is safe to use with any other Sore No-More product. Though it has been combined with other products to speed absorption and accelerate beneficial properties such as antibacterial activity, we have not tested Sore No-More with all available topical products from other manufacturers. Some combinations could cause irritation. Consult with your veterinarian if you have any questions about combining Sore No-More Classic Gelotion with other topical products.
