Q: What is the difference between Sore No-More Classic Liniment and Sore No-More Performance Liniment?
A: The difference is Sore No-More Performance does not contain lobelia. Lobelia was replaced with comfrey to meet FEI “Zero-Tolerance” and other agency regulatory guidelines. Comfrey offers a slightly stronger anti-inflammatory advantage for horses competing in regulated events. Sore No-More Classic still contains lobelia, a natural anti-inflammatory that is listed as a banned substance with certain agencies.
Q: Does Sore No-More Performance Liniment have the same applications and benefits as Sore No-More Classic Liniment?
A:Yes. Sore No-More Performance Liniment can be used in the same way you would use Sore No-More Classic Liniment. Both formulas are designed to reduce pain, inflammation and supple tight muscles. Use either the Performance or Classic formula as a direct spray, bath brace or massage. Use before and after workouts, under riding equipment and as part of a daily grooming routine.
Q: Is Sore No-More Performance Liniment safe to use on horses with sensitive skin?
A: Yes. Sore No-More Performance Liniment, like all products in our Sore No-More line, was designed for sensitive skinned horses. Sore No-More Performance Liniment will not blister or burn the skin like conventional liniments. It’s made of all-natural, gentle ingredients that are proven effective against pain and inflammation.
Q: Can Sore No-More Performance be used under riding equipment, blankets and wraps?
A: Yes. Sore No-More Performance is shown safe to use under riding equipment, blankets, bandages, wraps and therapeutics. Due to our all-natural ingredients, there should be no irritation when used properly under such items. The liniment goes on clean and leaves no greasy residue or sticky mess on equipment.
Q: Can I use Sore No-More Performance Liniment on other areas of the body besides the lower limbs and hooves?
A: Yes. While we don’t suggest using on open wounds or delicate areas like the nostrils and eyes, this liniment is safe to use anywhere you deem necessary to pull inflammation and reduce pain. Consult with your veterinarian before application if you intend on using Sore No-More Performance Liniment outside of labeled uses.
"I've used it all...lotions, liniments, you name it. Sore No-More Liniment does the job better than anything else I've ever worked with. Sore No-More Liniment can be used on any horse without the threat of allergic reactions. It's great on their backs and legs, with or without wraps. I have been using Sore No-More Liniment ever since it came out, and have used it all over the world, including the 1996, 2000, and the 2004 Olympics. No other product can take sore muscles out of horses in such a short time. I have shortened my prep time for the Three Day Event horses and found they came out of their rigorous competitions in much better condition than usual."
- Doug Hannum, USET Equine Physical Therapist
“We have recently used Sore No-More under our Back on Track ceramic wraps with terrific results. The horses’ legs that we have put it on, along with the wraps, have consistently stayed tighter than ever before.”
- Steffen Peters, USDF Professional
“It’s [Sore No-More] a terrific product. It enables us to use it on the muscles, on the big large muscle mass of the horse whenever his back is sore, or when his hind end is tired from the work. It is really, really, great!”
- Karen O’Connor, Olympic Medalist
"I use Sore No-More on all my horses. When they work hard I can feel a significant difference if they've had their Sore No-More rubdown or if they haven't. It's amazing stuff!! Everyone should experience and use it."
- Courtney King Dye
"Sore No-More Horse Liniment has become an important part of my equine therapy practice. I use it on all of the horses that I work on, including Breeder's Cup Champions and Stakes Winners. Sore No-More Liniment works very well with all of the modalities that I use."

"I like to use Sore No-More after I work my horses. I use it as a brace and it helps keep those legs nice and tight, which keeps my horses feeling good."
- Shawn Flarida, NRHA Professional
"This is hands down my favorite liniment. Our horses get daily cross fiber grooming with Sore No-More before and after working creating supple, happy horses! I put Sore No-More in a spray bottle for easy application."
- Lisa Lewis-Greene
"I have never tried any product that I have seen such immediate results as Sore No-More. I dilute it for a body wash or use it straight for a leg brace after a workout. It is the first thing I apply if I notice any swelling or soreness on my horse or myself!"
- Sharon Camarillo
“A gallon jug of Sore No-More is a must have in my wash stall and show tack room! My grooms joke that I use this liniment in place of water. I also find it helpful when a new horse comes into the barn with little or no fitness. I have not found a better product that gives comparable relief of sore or tense muscles. It’s just as important to me that it has an arnica base that allows me to use this product freely on even the most sensitive of skin types. I also use this liniment in rehab situations when needed. I warm the liquid and apply as directed.”
- Suzy Stafford
"This is one of my favorite products and I love to share with others. I not only use on/after riding but I also use in our breeding program. I like to use after breeding and our stallion likes it."
- Angie Ferrell
“We use Sore No-More Liniment as part of our daily program and have for years. All of our horses get a pre-race rubdown with Sore No-More to help warm up their muscles, especially in the hind end! It is an important part of our groom's routine. It helps us to get to the Winner's Circle.”
- Barclay Tagg
“I am an equine massage therapist – Sore No-More is the best liniment out on the market. I recommend Sore No-More to all my clients. I've gone so far as to use it on myself as well. It is an integral part of my massage routine. And it does not blister my hands like Bigeloil and Absorbine did. Many, many thanks for a wonderful product.”
- Bob Rush
"I really like Sore No-More because it is an all-natural product. I use it on my horses following every grand prix they compete in.”
- Candice King
“I had been carrying Sore No-More in my trailer for years and using it on my horses whenever I ran a 75 or 100-mile race. I didn't become an absolute convert, however, until one day during a race I pulled a muscle on the outside of my lower leg. At the vet checks, I could barely walk and was wondering if I would be able to compete the race. Susan Favro, from Health As A Horse, handed me a small sample bottle of Sore No-More and told me to put it on myself. By the time I had to get back on my horse my leg felt back to normal and I felt ready to complete the ride. My horse, SAR Tiki Galaxy, went on to with that 75-mile race and received the Best Condition Award. Needless to say, she got a run down the Sore No-More when we were done and I now use it on all my horses after a hard workout and after all my race!”
- Carol Giles
“Sore No-More Liniment has become an integral part of my saddle fitting routine. The main reason for fitting and adjusting saddles is for the comfort of the horse. In my work, I often find varying degrees of muscle tenderness and pain during the back examination. The Sore No-More Liniment will convey a foaming reaction wherever a tender, sore sport exists under the saddle. It has not only helped to make my client's horses' backs more comfortable but it is an excellent indicator for areas that need to be cared for in the equine athlete.”
- Gary Severson, The Saddle Doctor
“We had a show this weekend with footing that was so deep and slick we filed a complaint. My horse only went in because he was doing a Long Stirrups class for a friend's child and the judge had decreed no cantering after two ponies fell in the mess. Trotting was safe, but you could tell it was a slog. I put the Sore No-More Liniment on his legs as soon as he came out and again when he got home and today he was the only horse that was not showing any stiffness at all. I'm sure it was from the Sore No-More Liniment!”
- Gina Kazimir
“Our overall pick for safety in both acute and chronic conditions, versatility (body wash, muscles, legs, with or without wraps), pain relief, rapid inflammation control and low irritation potential is still the herbal-based Sore No-More.”
- Horse Journal
“I'm meticulous about the care my horses get because they work incredible hard for me. With all the demands eventing places on a horse, their muscles get sore – I know mine do! I use Sore No-More as a liniment, brace and shampoo as part of my regular program to keep my horses comfortable.”
- Jan Byyny, 2004 Olympic Alternate
“I use Sore No More Equine Liniment on all of my horses and myself. I use it both proactively and reactively and absolutely love the product. It makes my horses and I feel so much better!”
Jessica Neideman
“Giacomo, 2005 Kentucky Derby Winner, uses Sore No-More Horse Liniment as his regular leg brace. We believe it to be safe and effective liniment.”
- John Sherrifs
"Just had to do a quick blurb about how much I love your products! I am an FEI Jr/Y rider and I use so many of your products on my horses and at the farm I work at! We love them. Your poultice is one of the best and your liniment is unsurpassed. It's always in my tack trunk for shows to help with the extra stress on my horse and it definitely gives us that extra little edge when he is refreshed, relaxed, and comfortable after using Sore No-More! And it does wonders for him on normal training days at the farm. I'm very thankful that I found your products! And I'm never worried aboout putting harmful chemicals on him since your products are natural! With some large and important competitions coming up you can bet I'll be stocking up on my Sore No-More supplies! Thanks Again!"
- Katelyn Kok
“I have used the Sore No-More Liniment and Gelotion extensively over the years for many reasons. I particularly love the gelotion since it goes on so accurately to specific areas, with no waste.”
- Kim Severson, Olympic Medalist
“I love your Sore No-More Liniment! I'm an equine massage therapist and use it regularly on my horses as well as others (not to mention, my feet as well!).”
Kimberly Vargo, Equine Massage Therapist
“Quito II is a 17 year-old Belgian Warmblood that I compete on in the 3' jumper and 2' equitation classes. After a long day of showing on Saturdays and Sundays, I like to give him a whole body wash with the Sore No-More Liniment. I dilute it with water and apply it all over with a sponge, and then follow up with rolling a tennis ball over him (a tip I got off your website!). He really enjoys the entire process, and Sore No-More has a very pleasant small as well – not medicine-y like some other liniments. I've actually used the leftover liniment in the bucket on my arms and hands!”
- Lee Barnes
"The day after Equine Affaire, I went to the barn to discover my horse had extremely stocked up hind legs for no apparent reason. This horse with a relatively high threshold for pain, would not even let me tough her hind legs (below the hock) with a finger without flinching and lifting her leg up like she was going to cow kick. After a bit of work, I got her used to me feeling her legs and was surprised to find no heat or strong pulse. I put Sore No-More Liniment on her legs and massaged it in and it was the only way she would let me touch her legs for more than a few seconds. The moment the Sore No-More was on and her head dropped and eye lids drooped."
- Milly Mills
"We were hooked on this company's products soon after we started to use them. I especially like the Sore No-More Liniment for large muscle groups and use as a back brace. The natural ingredients (arnica) are superior to use and provide no harsh chemicals that could be harmful to our horses. I also like the fact there is no alcohol in them as alcohol can dry out their skin and dull their coats. These are naturally good products, obviously created by people who understand horses.”
- Oloh Larsson
“Sore No-More Liniment is an ongoing part of our daily routine with all of our horses. Dressage and combined driving is hard work, so the horses look forward to their rub down with this very effective and wonderful product.”
- Patsy Wooten, Wooten Stables
“The Oakland Zoo giraffe team is a huge fan of the entire line of Sore No-More products! The products are easy to use and extremely effective. We have used the Sore No-More topical solutions to reduce inflammation and soreness in the muscles and joints of giraffes with thrush, arthritis, ringbone, and lactic acid build up. It is great for more sensitive animals because it has a natural, pleasant scent instead of the typical menthol smell associated with topic anti-inflammatories."
- Paul Thornton
“I know how great Sore No-More is but I was particularly delighted when my soon to be father in law commented on it! He had broken his finger in a foal accident and like a lot of old country boys wouldn't get it set properly, so he couldn't bend it and it had a lump on it. I asked him to run some Sore No-More on my thoroughbred's legs as he had some heat and swelling in them. A few days ago he came to me beaming as he can now bend it and a lot of the lump has disappeared!”
- Sarah Gordon-Jones
“I use Sore No-More Liniment during competitions on their legs when I wrap them up for the night. After riding on different footing than at home, it helps to keep their legs tight and prevents them from walking out stiff in the morning.”
- Stacy Parvey-Larsson
"I love the Sore No-More spray because I can use it under my tack. The longer he stays saddled the tighter his muscles get. He is also very weather sensitive. I spent a year using the product and started selling it myself. I'm a full time massage therapist and acupuncturist. I take a booth at several shows in Oklahoma throughout the year and the Sore No-More has been a big hit.”
- Summer Terry
“I have tried many different liniments but none of them came close to the results I got with Sore No-More. My horse, Biscuit will always have his rub down with the liniment after a hard, stressful workout.”
- Tracey Goodman
